Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
February 11, 2016
Grace Lutheran Church

Call to Order:  7:00pm

Quorum: In attendance were Bertha Perrin, Dave Cheney, Bob Trask, Bill Hillberg and Linda Stasik. Van Moore of APM was also present. (14 homeowners were also present.)
 
Approval of Meeting Minutes: Motion by Dave Cheney, seconded by Bob Trask to approve the minutes of August 27, 2015 board meeting as read. All in favor. Motion by Dave Cheney, seconded by Bertha Perrin to approve the draft Annual Board meeting minutes of February 2, 2016 as corrected.  All in favor.

Treasurer’s Report:  Van reviewed and read the 1/31/2016 Balance Sheet. Motion by Bill Hillberg, seconded by Bob Trask to accept the report as presented. All in favor. Van reviewed the Operating/Reserve Budget for Jan-Dec 2016. It will be sent in the mail to the members for preview before the annual budget meeting, tentatively scheduled for March 16, 2016.     

Old Business:

  • Street Lights: Still having problems with dark areas.  Problem area at Limerick  and Sunset Lakes Drive identified by homeowners.  Need to have FPL come out  and map where the lights are currently located and determine where additional  poles may be needed. Van will contact FPL tomorrow, 2/12 to arrange this.
  • Playground: Playground has more damage, becoming dangerous.  Needs to be replaced.  Van will assist the Playground Committee.  Volunteers for the  committee were Ashley Hammond 678-739-7722, David Eaton 321-412-1173  and Chuck and Olivia Shoemaker 321-338-7949.
  • Tennis Courts: Need nets, paint and striping.  Frank will do the painting once  the weather warms up a bit. Have two bids, need one more  for fence replacement.
  • Traffic Issues: Had initial study years ago to have Sunset Lakes roads up to  county  standards regarding stop and speed limit signs, lines and sidewalks.   Brevard County Sheriff’s officers are supposed to drive through.
  • ARC report: Jim presented the ARC actions for January.  Bob Trask will work  with Jim Turner to revise the DRG’s.
 New Business:
  • Web Site/Newsletter: Dave Cheney reported on the current web site.  Mike  Swift with APM is our current web master. Discussed possible reinstatement of  paper newsletter. Discussion to once again distribute “Welcome Book” developed  in 2003.
  • Training: All board members will be attending a HOA Board Certification  class presented by Clayton & McCulloh.
  • Next Meeting: Budget Meeting, March 16, 2016 at the Grace Lutheran Church  at 7:00.
